Larch Gym

It may not be surprising to hear that here at Timber Rooms we love timber. We take it very seriously and only ever buy from sustainable companies committed to replanting and the conservation of our natural environment but beyond that each length of timber we use carries its own unique characteristics. On this project we used larch. A hardy and heavy timber which lasts for decades as a weatherproof finish and of course it looks stunning.

What makes this building stand out from many of the others we have designed recently is that it is also clad internally with larch which creates a completely different feel to that of a plastered building.

Occupying a fabulous location beside an oast house, nestled beside farm land it was important to create something that complimented the surroundings. The natural look of larch is soft against the backdrop and once inside you feel as though you are in a lodge far from home. Used mainly as a garden gym room and occasional garden office we included air conditioning to allow for comfortable year round use with a large set of sliding doors and a floor to ceiling window to maximise both natural light and the view. A large deck to the front is the perfect spot for outdoor entertaining and enjoying the uninterrupted landscape.
